Last 6 months: 17 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read A garage door wheel had come out of the rail and detached from the door. In a June 2026 Google review, the customer wrote that Luigi of 5 Star Garage Door fixed it, replaced all of the wheels, tightened loose bracket screws, lubricated the springs and replaced door frame molding the door had damaged. Sixteen 2026 reviews credit Luigi with the work. The company holds 4.9 stars from 41 Google ratings and a Better Business Bureau grade of A. Its Connecticut HIC license is active, and its site offers free estimates and lists 24/7 emergency service. The jobs run from repairs to full installs. An October 2026 reviewer wrote that Cheryl handled communications, ordering and coordination, Raul handled the framing, sanding and caulking, and Luigi installed the track, doors and openers. A March 2026 reviewer said Luigi found a snapped cable that had taken the door off track, then changed the snapped bottom brackets with the rollers on both doors. A May 2026 Angi reviewer wrote that Luigi repaired the pulleys within 30 mins, even after the tech got a flat tire on the way, and another May 2026 reviewer described a new motor installation and regular maintenance in an hour and a half. Other technicians show up too. In April 2026, one reviewer wrote that Steven fixed a broken extension spring at a cost a little more than expected but still cheaper than another company that had done their other door springs, and another said John fixed a spring at a fair price. A March 2026 customer wrote that 5 Star Garage Door had acquired the contract of a previous company that did their work, and helped quickly with an installation issue that came up almost a year later. Two March 2026 reviews push back on price. One customer wrote that a tune-up advertised as under 100 came to around 300 with parts replaced, and that the door worked for a few days and "reverted somewhat"; the same customer called the technician courteous and fast. The other wrote that the vehicle had no company markings, that a sticker was left on the wall without asking, and that they were "not sure costs equaled value of job" after a visit of 15 minutes. **Strengths:** - Luigi's repairs — 2026 reviews credit him with fixes and installs - Spring and cable fixes — 2026 reviews describe broken parts replaced - Full installs — an October 2026 job covered track, doors and openers **Concerns:** - Tune-up pricing — a March 2026 reviewer said the bill nearly tripled - Value of short visits — a March 2026 reviewer questioned the cost ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Connecticut HIC license HIC.0701692 is active _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx) — “CT hic license HIC.0701692 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: 5 STAR GARAGE DOOR LLC” - 4.9 stars from 41 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=5%20Star%20Garage%20Door&query_place_id=ChIJQ7kgtLQIaAgRf72oX852TDg) — “Google: 4.9★ from 41 ratings” - Better Business Bureau grade A _(confidence: high)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ct/naugatuck/profile/garage-doors/5-star-garage-door-llc-0111-110098037) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A” - Sixteen 2026 reviews credit technician Luigi with the work _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2tzMFRXMDRablpRVEhaSU9ERnRhVXd3ZURaTFRYYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x384c76ce5fa8bd7f!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOks0TW04ZnZQTHZIODFtaUwweDZLTXc%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ They need to change the company name to “10 Star Garage Door”.
