## The honest read

A Plus Exterior is the Milford company people call when water is getting in. In an August 2026 Google review, a homeowner said the crew came out within an hour of a roof-leak call and Ray found the source, the ridge cap, and fixed it on the spot; a September 2026 customer said Ray tracked a second-floor leak to a clogged gutter the same day. Alex Montero, whom reviewers name as the owner, and project manager Ray come up by name again and again, alongside gutter installers Adam and Johnny.

The bigger jobs are roofs, siding and gutters. A November 2025 reviewer said stripping two layers of shingles exposed more rot than expected; Alex called right away with a plan that kept the extra cost down, the total still came in under another quote, and the roof held through a nor'easter two days later. In a June 2025 review, a homeowner said Alex advised closing the gable vents and adding intake vents so the new ridge vent would actually work, where other roofers had simply recommended a ridge vent. An August 2026 reviewer described a full tear-off down to the decking with plywood replaced where needed, tarps down and a magnet sweep for nails afterward. Several reviewers mention honesty about repairs: a September 2026 customer said Alex fixed a leaky roof rather than selling a new one.

The Google average is 4.9 stars from 163 ratings. The complaints are about communication. A September 2026 4-star review said communication was poor before the crew arrived, though the work and in-person communication were good. In a September 2023 review, a gutter customer said the install came about three weeks after the promised week with no word in between, and the crew arrived without notice; the work itself was fast and fairly priced.

Its Connecticut home improvement registration, HIC.0632682, held by A Plus Exterior LLC, is active according to the state licence registry.

**Strengths:**
- Fast leak response — 2026 crew arrived within an hour and fixed it
- Repair over replace — reviewers say Alex fixed rather than upsold
- Roof ventilation know-how — 2025 review details a corrected vent plan
- Careful cleanup — tarps and a magnet sweep, per a 2026 review

**Concerns:**
- Pre-job communication — 2023 and 2026 reviews cite silence before the visit
