## The honest read

A clog deep in the sewer line is the kind of call Able Power Rooter gets. One customer said another company came in and couldn't unclog it, and Able Power Rooter came right over and got the job done. The company says it has handled plumbing work since its founding in 1969, and its website lists a service area that includes Auburn, Brunswick, Freeport and Gray.

A customer with pipes backing up in the basement called first thing in the morning and had somebody at the home not long afterwards. That customer said the issue was fixed very quickly, an unrelated issue got help too, and the charge was less than they anticipated. A customer facing a solid plug said they kept working at it until they got the job done.

One recent visit drew complaints about conduct. That customer said they came during a time period the customer had asked them not to come, left a cigarette butt in front of the garage door, and did not lock the door afterward as requested. The same customer said the sewer line was cleared and the price was cheaper than other estimates.

On Google it holds 4.9 stars from 139 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+.

**Strengths:**
- Stubborn sewer clog — a customer said it cleared one another company couldn't
- Quick morning response — a customer had someone at home soon after calling
- A lower-than-expected charge — a customer said the bill was less than anticipated

**Concerns:**
- Requested visit window — a customer said they came when asked not to
- Door left unlocked — a customer said it was not locked as requested
- Cigarette butt left — a customer found one in front of the garage door

**Where sources disagree:**
- The company's website gives a 1969 founding, while its BBB profile says the firm was established in Maine in 1974.
