## The honest read

Absolute Air Services installs and maintains heating and cooling systems, and a 2022 Reddit commenter placed it in Portland, CT. It holds 4.9 stars from 1,408 Google ratings and an A+ grade on the BBB, and the company says it has been in business for 25 years. A trade news site, ACHR News, carried the headline "Sila Services Acquires Absolute Air Services."

A recent customer who had just bought a home with an older oil boiler said Matt L and Jayden A explained the system, tuned it up for the season and ran diagnostic tests to confirm it was running safely. A recent customer said John E found an issue during regular maintenance of a two-year-old on-demand boiler, contacted the manufacturer and discovered the original installer had not set up the system properly and carbon monoxide was way too high.

A recent customer said Mike, Aaron and Ryan removed an old system, installed a new Rheem two-stage unit and added a catch pan with a shutoff sensor under the furnace, coil and condensate pump. A recent customer said Evan, Eric and Melvin spent two full days in the rain replacing an AC condenser that died over the summer. Kevin R found overlooked issues with new mini-split AC units that were not working right and set them up properly, a recent customer said. A recent customer said Jeff was the third technician, after two other companies, to look for a problem with their AC, and that he explained each step of the diagnosis and offered options with estimates.

A recent customer wrote that after private equity took the company over, there were digital assistants instead of people to talk to, systems cost almost twice as much, they had to pay for corroded lines the company originally installed, and they were pitched additional equipment during routine service calls.

**Strengths:**
- An oil boiler tune-up — a recent customer said the system was explained and tested
- A carbon monoxide find — a recent customer said John E caught a misconfigured boiler
- A Rheem system install — a recent customer said a catch pan was added

**Concerns:**
- Post-takeover changes — a recent customer cited higher costs and digital assistants
- Service-call sales pitches — a recent customer was pitched additional equipment
