## The honest read

Diego is the owner of ACD Painting E Remodeling, according to a 2026 customer who hired the company for exterior painting and said Diego showed up every morning with his crew to oversee the work. The company's website describes a team of painters doing residential and commercial painting and lists free estimates. On Google it holds 4.8 stars from 36 ratings.

The work goes well past paint. A recent customer had Diego handle painting and general contracting on a townhouse condo, where his team removed and replaced worn insulation in the entryway and basement ceiling, remodeled three closets for a California Closets installation, replaced a garage fire door and did trim work in the primary bedroom and dining room. That customer said flooring subcontractors Diego brought in refinished and stained the floors. A recent customer who moved to the New Milford area said Diego has completed several projects for them.

A 2026 customer said Diego remodeled their bathroom, including tile installation, plumbing, electrical and painting. A 2025 customer said painting their 200-plus-year-old farmhouse required extensive prep work. A 2025 customer with a historic home said Diego arrived on time with people and supplies, and that the team worked until the day's work was complete. A 2024 customer said Diego and his crew got a house in Danbury ready to sell, pulling up carpets to expose the hardwood, adding two laminate floors and redoing the bathroom, and that it sold in six days. A 2024 customer hired the company to paint a log cabin in the Poconos and said he also changed the front porch posts and handrails and the back deck door. A 2023 customer said ACD repaired two exterior chimneys by resurfacing, replaced an exterior door with a larger unit and made deck repairs.

A recent customer whose cedar shingle home ACD repainted about two years earlier said they asked before the job whether the cedar shakes needed extra preparation and were told no. That customer said paint failure and peeling developed within the first year, ACD returned for touch-up work, and they were then told the cedar should have been conditioned before painting and that there was no warranty on the job. That customer said the paint failure continued, with the coating peeled from the cedar shakes in widespread areas, exposing bare wood, and advised a detailed discussion of surface preparation, expected longevity of the finish and warranty coverage before moving forward. A 2026 customer described poor communication and a bad attitude over the phone.
