## The honest read

Ace Handyman Services holds a 4.7-star rating from 78 ratings on Angi and 4.5 stars from 77 ratings on HomeAdvisor.

A 2021 customer said an earlier contractor took their money and ran, and that Juan then cleaned up the prior demo area, properly sealed the shower, installed a new shower bench and curbs, and repaired the wall. A 2017 Houzz reviewer wrote that the company had worked on several projects for them over the years, from quick repair jobs to complete bathroom and kitchen remodels.

A 2023 customer said they hired the company to rebuild a front porch that was falling apart, and that Paul offered some design changes to the deck. A 2017 customer said Chris installed cabinets and a door to a storage area in a closet. In 2016, a customer wrote that Chris found two live wires under the sink and reinstalled PVC pipe on the side of the house for water drainage.

A 2019 customer said the company called two days before the appointment to say it could not come that day, then never called back with a new day; the customer did the fence cleaning themselves. A 2016 customer said sanding of the walls and ceiling was incomplete, unsanded patches were painted over and tile was not completed properly. A 2023 customer called the work great but a little pricey.

**Strengths:**
- Shower repair — a 2021 customer said Juan sealed the shower and added a bench
- Porch rebuild — a 2023 customer hired them for a falling-apart front porch
- Cabinet installation — a 2017 customer said Chris installed cabinets
- A safety catch — a 2016 customer said Chris found two live wires

**Concerns:**
- A missed appointment — a 2019 customer said no call back came with a new day
- Unfinished prep work — a 2016 customer said unsanded patches were painted over
- A higher price — a 2023 customer called the work a little pricey
