## The honest read

Ace Handyman Services Fairfield and New Haven takes on the list of small jobs around a house: grab bars, railings, screen doors, cabinets, a TV move. The company says it serves Fairfield and New Haven Counties, works for residential and commercial properties, and that its workers are direct employees.

A recent customer said John installed grab bars and handrails and repaired concrete steps at a price that customer called very fair. A recent customer said the company installed screen doors and fixed a bathroom plumbing leak. A recent customer said two workers cleaned the gutters and left everything ready for winter. A recent customer said Jamie installed cabinets and handled other repairs. A recent customer who asked John for paint and drywall repairs said he started the same day and kept them updated.

A recent customer said a handyman spent four hours on an 18 by 18 inch drywall patch, charged over $615 and left it unfinished. A recent customer said a handyman left minutes after arriving with no explanation and no follow-up from the office. A 2026 customer said a technician spent two days on a simple list, finished only a few items and had the husband sign his phone, with the signature then attached to the invoice. A 2025 customer said an attic ladder estimated at $800 to $1,200 was billed at more than $2,200. A recent customer called Mike great but said the company charges way too much.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0656005, as active, held by Ace Handyman Services Fairfield.

**Strengths:**
- Grab bars and handrails — a recent customer said John installed both
- A same-day start — a recent customer said paint and drywall work began that day

**Concerns:**
- Hourly billing — a recent customer paid over $615 for an unfinished patch
- An abandoned visit — a recent customer said a handyman left without explanation
- Estimate overrun — a 2025 customer was billed over twice the estimate
