Last 6 months: 0 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read Ackley Cabinet's own website now says the company is shifting its focus after more than four decades and no longer offers residential kitchen refacing or cabinet installation services to the general public. The work its customers describe is a kitchen makeover that keeps the existing cabinet boxes. The company's BBB profile describes custom cabinet components installed over existing boxes, and reviewers call it the Forefront system. In a 2024 review, Scott and Kim, a husband and wife team, transformed a 45 year old oak kitchen and great room cabinets in 2 weeks and a day, and the customers kept their granite countertops and tile floor. A 2022 Houzz customer listed what was replaced: new panels, new doors, new toeboards, new drawers, new handles, new crowns, new everything but the box, in a smidge over two weeks. The process gets as much detail as the result. An August 2024 customer wrote that Scott brought sample doors to the house, suggested drawer upgrades, and that the kitchen was transformed in under two weeks with the area curtained off and no unexpected costs. A 2024 Houzz reviewer said they put up plastic walls so dust would not enter other rooms. In a 2022 review, a customer noticed something off on one door after the job, and Kim and Scott came back and took care of it. The newest review is from July 2025, when a customer said Scott and Kim redid their kitchen and were reasonably priced. Its Google page carries 5★ from 36 ratings, and Houzz shows 5.0★ from 44 ratings. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration is active with the state registry. **Strengths:** - Boxes stay, fronts change — 2024 oak kitchen redone in 2 weeks and a day - Dust control — 2024 Houzz customer described plastic walls between rooms - Came back for a door — 2022 customer had an off door fixed **Concerns:** - No longer taking residential work — company site says refacing and installs stopped ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - The company's website says it no longer offers residential kitchen refacing or cabinet installation services to the general public _(confidence: high)_ - [Official Website](https://www.ackleycabinet.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): After more than four decades of helping homeowners reimagine their kitchens, we're shifting our focus.
