Advanced Appliance Services says it has been in business 40 years, and its website lists 14 towns it serves, from Newtown and Danbury to Fairfield and Bridgeport. It holds 3.9 stars from 16 Google ratings. That 2025 customer also said the technician advised against repairing the oven further if the repair did not hold, since a new one would be cheaper. In a 2022 review, a customer said Art took the panel off a Maytag washer more than 20 years old, showed them the source of a leak and explained why a repair would not make sense. A 2025 customer whose washer was making scraping noises said Art gave advice that got the washer back in business, with no $160 charge to come out and look. A 2025 customer said a dryer repair took three visits: a week to schedule, three more weeks for parts, then the dryer went down a week after one repair and an hour after the next, and they were told to call Lowe's for a replacement. In a 2023 review, a customer said Art looked at a machine's error codes for 2 minutes, recommended a new machine and charged $100 for the service call, which the customer had not been told about. A 2022 customer said the price was extremely high for what was done. **Strengths:** - An upfront oven diagnosis — a 2025 customer heard the problem and cost first - Repair-or-replace advice — a 2022 customer was shown why repair made no sense **Concerns:** - Repeat dryer failures — a 2025 customer said the dryer failed after repairs - A $100 service call — a 2023 customer was charged after a 2-minute look - A high price — a 2022 customer called it extremely high for the work ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 3.9 stars from 16 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Advanced%20Appliance%20Services&query_place_id=ChIJ02PKOCv954kR9e0kYCCMeIc) — “Google: 3.9★ from 16 ratings” - The company says it has been in business 40 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://advancedappliancect.com) — “Self-reported 40 years in business” - Its website lists 14 towns it serves, including Newtown, Danbury, Fairfield and Bridgeport _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://advancedappliancect.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): Newtown, Bethel, Redding, Danbury, New Fairfield, Brookfield, Southbury, Monroe, Trumbull, Easton, Fair…” - A 2025 customer said the technician explained the oven igniter problem and the cost before doing any work _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2tjelowUXhkWEF5U1hSemNWOUphR3RyU0hReGRsRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x87788c206024edf5!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOkczZ0QxdXAySXRzcV9JaGtrSHQxdlE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ To start off, I was referred to Advanced Appliance Services from a good friend of ours, and I have to say, I am thoroughly impressed with…” - A 2022 customer said Art showed them the source of a washer leak and explained why a repair would not make sense _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChdDSUhNMG9nS0VJQ0FnSUNlbjVPMl93RRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x87788c206024edf5!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEICAgICen5O2_wE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Art from Advanced Appliance diagnosed a problem we had with leaking in our Maytag washer (20+ years old).
