## The honest read

One recent customer with a large bald-faced hornet nest in a difficult location said Advanced Pest Solutions first planned to spray it, then looked at the situation and decided bagging and completely removing the nest was the better option. That customer said they explained everything, answered questions and said to avoid the area for a few days after the removal.

Ken and Selena came over on short notice to take care of a bald-faced hornet nest in one customer's backyard. At a Boothbay Harbor property, a customer said Selena and Ken's service left no more mice, squirrels and hornets, and that a tick and mosquito treatment made a difference. A customer whose emergency need was answered and solved said they now use the company for ongoing pest management.

The company describes itself on its website as a pest control and wildlife control service for homes and businesses in central and coastal Maine, from ants to trapping raccoons. On Google it shows 4.9 stars from 116 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+.

One undated BBB review warns against using them.

**Strengths:**
- Hornet nest removal — a recent customer said they bagged and removed the nest
- A short-notice visit — came over on short notice for a backyard hornet nest
- Tick and mosquito treatment — a Boothbay Harbor customer said it made a difference

**Concerns:**
- A BBB warning — an undated BBB review says not to use them
