## The honest read

Fences, gates and railings are the work AFG Fabricators is hired for. The company says it builds custom wood, composite, stainless steel, iron, aluminum and glass fencing throughout Fairfield County, and it names Brookfield, New Milford, Newtown, Fairfield, New Fairfield and Danbury as its service area. On Google it holds 5 stars from 29 ratings.

A recent customer had a custom rail designed for their deck and says they took every precaution to make sure it was designed properly, with no installation issues. A 2026 customer said a car had destroyed their split rail fence; after insurance paid out, Philip was responsive, and when winter plows later broke two of the rails, Philip replaced them for no charge. A 2026 customer said Charlie, Jesus and the crew worked in frigid weather and got the fence built in the middle of winter in a short period of time. A 2026 customer said they installed an automated gate for the driveway, and a 2026 customer said they installed new wrought iron railings on the lower front stairs to match the existing ones.

A 2025 customer said Philip answered on the first call and gave a quote before inspecting that turned out surprisingly accurate, with pricing the customer called very fair. A 2025 customer described a New Canaan residence build that took in a new automatic opening gate, a custom wood fence and vegetable garden, a custom handrail, and ipe decking and handrails. A 2025 customer said Philip's crew handled both deer fencing and a metal driveway gate and accommodated all their requests and changes.

A 2024 customer said they had searched more than two years for a fence company to build a custom dog play area on slightly uneven terrain, with room for their landscaper's mower to fit through, and that the installation went quickly. A 2023 customer said that while their fence was being replaced, temporary fencing went up at night so the dog could still go out without a leash. A 2023 customer who signed from Bedford, NY said AFG provided a professional rendering before installing wrought iron railings and called the price competitive.

**Strengths:**
- A free rail repair — a 2026 customer said Philip replaced plow-broken rails at no charge
- A winter fence build — a 2026 customer said the fence went up mid-winter
- An accurate quote — a 2025 customer said the pre-inspection quote proved accurate
- A custom deck rail — a recent customer praised the pre-installation design work
