## The honest read

A 2025 Google customer wrote that Alan and his crew fully renovated both of their bathrooms. Alan Dinsmoor Contracting Services describes itself as a Connecticut-based company that has served residential and commercial customers across Connecticut and southeastern New York State since 1982, and its website says one team handles everything from plumbing to electrical.

A 2021 customer said they hired the company for a kitchen remodel, that the job began when promised and that they arrived on time every day. A 2024 customer said Alan and his crew installed cabinets in the kitchen in a timely manner and that he communicated effectively. A 2025 commenter in r/Connecticut called Alan Dinsmoor their go-to kitchen reno contractor in that area and wrote that "he'll scale to your budget and does all of the work himself."

A 2022 customer, whose master bathroom the company did in 2019, said Alan and one of his workers came out after water marks appeared on the dining room ceiling below it. In that 2022 account, Alan figured out the cause was the detachable shower handle, fixed the problem and had his drywall guy come in for the holes cut in the ceiling.

On Google the company holds 4.8 stars from 17 ratings, Houzz shows 5.0 from 4 ratings, and the BBB grades it A+. A 2011 Angi customer said Alan explained every step of the way and that his price was comparable. A 2011 Angi customer said he showed up on time, was late one day and called to let them know beforehand.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0565334, as active, held by Alan Dinsmoor Contracting Services.
