## The honest read

A water-damaged bathroom with new tenants due in six weeks is the kind of job a recent customer hired Matthew Brown of All American Carpentry RI for. The company describes its work as running from structural framing to the final piece of trim, says it has been in business 25 years, and lists Cranston, Providence, Johnston, Smithfield, North Providence and Portsmouth as its service area. It holds 5 stars across 10 Google ratings.

That bathroom customer was handling a bathroom remodel and kitchen ceiling repair after a significant water leak, from out of state, after an insurance claim was denied and a previous contractor ghosted them. They said Matt sent detailed video and photo updates every evening, gave a transparent cost breakdown, and helped them select shower, tile, vanity and paint combinations. With work scheduled to finish one day before the tenants moved in, they said he worked overtime and weekends, and the delay came to maybe half a day. They also said he installed a temporary fix on a loose front porch step free of charge and cleaned the bathroom after finishing.

A recent customer who first hired Matt for a bathroom remodel brought him back when their front porch steps began sagging. When he discovered the structural framing lacked the necessary supports, that customer said he already had a cost-effective plan, and the price rose only very minimally. They said he sent daily progress updates with photos and videos.

A recent customer said Matt kept them updated at every step of the project. A recent reviewer said that from the initial estimate, Matthew Brown made the project simple and straightforward.

**Strengths:**
- Evening photo updates — video and photo updates sent every evening of a remodel
- Tenant deadline met — overtime and weekends to finish before tenants moved in
- Ready cost plan — a framing problem met with a cost-effective plan
