The company describes itself as a local, family-owned team serving Fairfield County and says it has been in business 15 years. When one customer's old wooden door snapped a cable, Patrick came out later that day to give an estimate and raised the door so the car could get out; the in-stock doors were installed in 2 days. A customer whose belt had come off got same-day service, and the entire rail was replaced. Patrick replaced a keypad for one customer after another company said it could not fix it, and also changed the door sensors and replaced the gasket. One customer had a spring fixed, a new motor installed and the bottom seal replaced. A customer whose opener quit wrote that Patrick the owner gave the price up front and left the garage cleaner than when he started. In a 2025 review, a customer said a torsion spring broke on a Saturday morning, a call at 10:00 AM brought a technician out, and the repair was done by 12:30 PM. A 2025 customer said an install ran harder than expected because of uneven concrete, and they stayed extra hours to install and seal the doors. That 2025 customer said Patrick checked in afterwards and helped program the codes and buttons. In a 2★ review, a customer said the free quote was on the high end of reasonable and the diagnosis turned out wrong, and that he cancelled the appointment mid-conversation. That customer went with a competitor who fixed the door for about half the price Alvaro's quoted. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0645400, as active, held by Alvaro's Garage Doors LLC. **Strengths:** - A same-day rail fix — the entire rail was replaced after a belt came off - A weekend spring repair — a 2025 customer said it was done by 12:30 PM - A keypad fix — Patrick fixed it after another company could not **Concerns:** - A disputed diagnosis — a 2-star customer said the diagnosis turned out wrong ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Describes itself as a local, family-owned garage door team based in Monroe, CT, serving Fairfield County _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://alvarosgaragedoorllc.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Looking for fast, professional garage door service in Fairfield County?
