Last 6 months: 1 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read Twelve Google reviews from 2022 to 2025 describe AM General Contracting & Remodeling building or renovating a deck, and Carlos is the name customers write. The largest is a May 2024 account: a customer replaced a small deck of about 150 square feet with an "almost 700 squared feet deck with a partial roof," and wrote that "Carlos handled all the permit process, construction, electrical, etc." That reviewer added that the project "hit various issues which Carlos was quick to address." In a June 2023 review, a customer whose front-door deck broke on a Friday night wrote that Carlos arrived Saturday morning and the deck was completed by Monday afternoon. The other jobs are written one by one. An October 2025 Google reviewer had an empty attic turned into a functional room and wrote that "they pulled all the proper permits and did everything up to code." A December 2023 customer had a kitchen remodeled, "from the floor tiles to the walls to the cabinet installation." Two 2024 Google reviews describe roof repairs, a 2024 customer had a bathroom leak found and the ceiling patched, a 2025 reviewer had a door installed where a window used to be, and a 2023 reviewer had a sunroom redone and wrote "there were no surprise added charges." Two Google reviews, from 2025 and 2026, mention commercial work. A February 2026 reviewer wrote they had used the company for four separate projects. A May 2023 one-star Google reviewer, who called for a quote on replacing a door with a double hung window, wrote that Carlos said he would call back, then said he was "too busy" and told them to "contact a handy man." AM General Contracting & Remodeling LLC holds an active Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0653297. Its BBB grade is A+, and Google shows 4.9 stars from 37 ratings. The company's site cites 8 years in business. **Strengths:** - Decks — twelve Google reviews from 2022 to 2025 - Permits — 2024 and 2025 reviewers each describe permits handled - Weekend deck fix — June 2023 deck rebuilt Saturday to Monday **Concerns:** - Turned away — May 2023 reviewer was told to contact a handyman ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Holds an active Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0653297, held by AM GENERAL CONTRACTING & REMODELING LLC _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx) — “CT hic license HIC.0653297 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: AM GENERAL CONTRACTING & REMODELING LLC” - Deck building or renovation described in twelve Google reviews from 2022 to 2025 _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChdDSUhNMG9nS0VQaVkzTWp3dk9IZW53RRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xd30d85f153520ef4!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEPiY3MjwvOHenwE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ AM General did a wonderful job renovating my deck.
