## The honest read

American Frameless works in heavy glass: its Better Business Bureau profile lists frameless shower doors, glass pool fences, tub enclosures, wine rooms and office partitions, for homes and commercial spaces. The company's website states 70 years in business, and its Houzz profile describes it as a division of The Westport Glass Company. A 2015 customer said the storefront reads Westport Glass Co.

That 2015 customer hired it for a glass pool fence and said the owner was upfront with pricing and time frames. The same customer, who lives on the water, said the fence was safe for the kids and did not ruin the ocean view. A 2022 customer said the company worked on a new master bathroom, with an on-time installation and a neat, courteous service team. In a 2013 review, a company that used American Frameless for glass installations on its projects said quotes were completed promptly and that any problem with the work was corrected immediately. A 2013 customer said it installed a shower door in their apartment.

On Houzz it holds 3.9 stars from 7 ratings. A 2015 customer said their steam shower was installed incorrectly twice, with water all over the bathroom floor after each shower, and that they were without a shower for over 2 years. A 2014 customer objected to a deposit of at least 50% up front and said delivery came months after the promised date.

**Strengths:**
- Glass pool fence — a 2015 customer said pricing and timing were upfront
- On-time installation — a 2022 customer described a neat, courteous service team
- Prompt quoting — a 2013 company client said quotes came back promptly

**Concerns:**
- Steam shower install — a 2015 customer said it was installed wrong twice
- Large deposit — a 2014 customer said at least 50% was required up front
- Late delivery — a 2014 customer said delivery came months after the promised date
