The company says it has been in business for 8 years. A recent Google reviewer had a lawnmower grass catcher basket cover re-shaped, welded and painted, and wrote that the repairs were completed quickly. A 2025 customer brought in a rotted wheel housing from a used box truck, along with a mechanical drawing, and hired the shop to fabricate a replacement. That 2025 customer said Gio helped decide on metal thickness, quoted a price they found agreeable, and called sooner than expected to start; the piece was finished later that day. The same 2025 customer painted and installed it and wrote that it fit perfectly. A 2024 customer said Gio handled a small welding project for $80 and did not charge when they came back to have it aligned better. That 2024 customer also wrote that the shop might close an hour or two earlier than posted. A 2026 customer described Gio as the owner and said American Steel Works had done many jobs for them. **Strengths:** - Same-day turnaround — a 2025 customer said the piece was finished that day - A free realignment — a 2024 customer said the return fix was not charged - Lawnmower part repair — a recent customer had a basket cover welded and painted **Concerns:** - Shop hours — a 2024 customer said it might close earlier than posted ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 5 stars across 17 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=American%20Steel%20Works&query_place_id=ChIJnyrGljxJ5IkRgf4M0EST53A) — “Google: 5★ from 17 ratings” - The company says it has been in business for 8 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://americansteelworks.net) — “Self-reported 8 years in business” - A recent customer had a lawnmower grass catcher basket cover re-shaped, welded and painted _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2pSSWJGaDVRVXR1WkhscVJWQlpVbUpyUTFOU1QyYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x70e79344d00cfe81!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOjRIbFh5QUtuZHlqRVBZUmJrQ1NST2c%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ Gio did phenomenal job!
