## The honest read

Apex Roofing and Skylight Service is rated 4.7 stars from 73 ratings on both HomeAdvisor and Angi.

In a 2023 review, a customer with a leaky roof said Don explained over the phone what he thought the problem was, gave an estimate, came the very next day and fixed the roof within a few hours. That 2023 reviewer said Don did not try to convince them they needed an entire new roof and assured them they could get another 10 years out of it. A 2022 reviewer said Don was prompt and efficient in fixing the minor damage to their roof on what could have been a stressful rainy Sunday.

In a 2021 review, a customer said the company added four roof vents to provide better attic ventilation. Another 2021 reviewer said they repaired a leak, which saved that customer from having to replace the whole roof. A third 2021 customer said no other contractor was interested in a small job, but this company took the call, showed up and charged an honest fee.

In a 2019 review, a customer whose roof needed to be replaced said they stripped all the old shingles off, replaced all the wood, and completed the job in one day, and that Don Gagne kept them updated throughout the day. A separate 2019 customer who needed a roof washed to remove moss said they did a spectacular job and cleaned up after themselves each day.

**Strengths:**
- Leak repair — 2023 leaky roof fixed within a few hours next day
- Repair over replacement — 2023 customer was told the roof had 10 more years
- Small jobs — 2021 customer said others passed on a small job
- One-day reroof — 2019 old shingles stripped and wood replaced in a day
