## The honest read

Eighty-year-old hardwood with sun fading, scratches and dog damage came out looking new, a June 2026 Google reviewer wrote, and the crew sectioned off the room to keep dust out of the rest of the house. Artwood Floors is a Fairfield hardwood refinishing and installation company with 5 stars from 99 Google ratings; it says it has been in business 20 years and serves towns from Bridgeport and Fairfield to Danbury, Greenwich and Ridgefield.

Felipe is the name customers attach to the work, and the jobs are specific. A January 2026 reviewer started with yellow-orange red oak and ended with a light red oak with no orange or yellow tones. In an October 2025 review, the crew added 200 sqft woven into existing 40 yr old boards, matched the surface level and filled cracks, putting down sample colors to help the customer choose. A September 2026 customer had flooring and some sheetrock replaced after a basement pipe leak. A May 2026 reviewer had gaps filled during a refinish and said the team stuck to the agreed schedule.

Some jobs go past floors. A June 2026 customer had floors and a stairway refinished, interior walls and ceilings painted, and a bathroom and laundry room renovated, finished in 3 weeks against a promised 4 week lead time. A January 2026 reviewer had rustic oak installed, the whole interior repainted and a bathroom tiled, completed ahead of schedule. In a 2023 Angi review, the crew installed almost 1900 square feet of hardwood with two different stains around a household of family, cats and dogs, and came back three times to touch up one area.

Its Connecticut HIC license, HIC.0656093, is active on the state registry.

Its BBB grade is A+.

**Strengths:**
- Old floor restoration — an 80-year-old floor refinished in 2026
- Stain matching — red oak toned down, new boards matched to old
- Schedules kept — a 2026 job finished a week early
