## The honest read

Ballard's Moving & Junk holds a 5-star Google average across 165 ratings. It lists a service area running from Simsbury and Farmington to Hartford, New Haven, Springfield and Waterbury, and its own site lists residential moving, packing, junk removal and full property cleanouts.

On the junk side, a recent customer said Greg and Joe came on time for a junk removal job and did it in record time. A recent customer called them to clean out the customer's father's apartment at a senior living complex. A recent 4-star review praised the employees as on time but said the estimate process seems designed for moving, not junk removal.

Most of the work people hire them for is moving. Ballard's had a crew of 8 for one recent customer's 3-day move. Cody and John moved a piano from Granby to Enfield for a recent customer, who got a text that they were on their way. A recent customer said Gavin's team handled a long-distance CT-NC move. A recent customer said the move came in under budget, saving money from the original quote because they finished sooner than expected.

A 2026 customer moving from Wilbraham, MA to Laconia, NH said the floors in both homes were protected and all furniture was wrapped in blankets and plastic wrap.

**Strengths:**
- A junk removal job — a recent customer said Greg and Joe came on time
- A piano move — Cody and John moved one from Granby to Enfield
- An under-budget move — a recent customer paid less than the original quote

**Concerns:**
- Junk removal estimates — a recent customer found the process built for moving
