## The honest read

A 2022 customer with no heat said other oil companies could not come out for at least a week, and Barrett Family Oil was there in less than 20 minutes, charging less than their usual company with no emergency fee. A 2024 customer wrote that they text at a 1/4 tank and Bruce swings by, and thanked the company for keeping Thomaston warm.

In a 2025 review, a customer whose furnace was very low on oil and had stopped in the cold said Bruce arrived within an hour of their phone call. The same 2025 customer said he tried repriming the furnace and, when that did not work, advised heating the frozen pipe, after which the furnace started. A 2024 customer said Bruce answered right away and said one of his drivers would be there in 10 minutes, and they were. A 2026 customer who forgot about the oil until it went empty said he made an adjustment in his schedule to come to the home. A 2025 customer said Bruce was there the next day after a late call about low oil.

A 2022 reviewer wrote that their family has used Barrett Family Oil for the past 25 years. A 2023 customer said they have worked with Bruce for over 20 years and that he gives a fair price on home heating oil. The company holds an A+ grade from the Better Business Bureau, and its Google rating is 5 stars from 26 ratings.

**Strengths:**
- A 20-minute arrival — a 2022 customer with no heat said others could not come
- Frozen-pipe advice — a 2025 customer said the furnace started after Bruce's guidance
- A 25-year customer — a 2022 reviewer's family has used the company that long
- A fair oil price — a 2023 customer said Bruce gives a fair price
