Last 6 months: 0 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read Bernier Building & Remodeling is a remodeling firm serving New Haven, Fairfield and Middlesex counties that customers hire for bathroom remodels in older homes and larger renovations, with Jason Bernier running each job. Its Houzz profile says it was founded in 1999, and its website describes the firm as focused on complex renovations and additions. It holds an active Connecticut home improvement registration, HIC.0644269, in the name Bernier Building and Remodeling Inc. Google shows 5 stars from 43 ratings. In an October 2025 Google review, the owners of a 1970 colonial had a second-floor bathroom remodeled after a tub leak reached the kitchen ceiling; Jason suggested opening a soffit for more room and ventilation and dealt with mold and water issues. That reviewer's tip was to have every fixture ordered and inspected before demolition, since their late-ordered tub unit arrived damaged. A May 2025 couple had a first floor reworked so they could age in the house, with a vaulted living room, a new staircase, a master suite and a relocated laundry room, completed on schedule. In a 2024 review, a family in a 1960s raised ranch stayed home through a two-month job that rebuilt the master bath with a walk-in tiled shower, renovated the guest bath and replaced old plumbing and wiring, on the timeline set at the start. Another 2024 reviewer had a master bath in a 100-plus-year-old home turned around in six weeks. A 2022 kitchen customer noted the company is not the cheapest. **Strengths:** - Older-home baths — reviewers describe 1960s to 1900s bathrooms rebuilt - On schedule — 2024 and 2025 reviews say timelines held - Hands-on lead — a 2025 reviewer says Jason or a team member was present **Concerns:** - Pricing — a 2022 reviewer said the company is not the cheapest ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Active Connecticut home improvement registration HIC.0644269, held by Bernier Building and Remodeling Inc _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx) — “CT hic license HIC.0644269 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: BERNIER BUILDING AND REMODELING INC” - Says it was founded in 1999 and serves New Haven, Fairfield and Middlesex counties _(confidence: medium)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/kitchen-and-bath-remodelers/bernier-building-and-remodeling-inc-pfvwus-pf~93427637) — “About (Houzz profile, the business's own statement): Bernier Building & Remodeling, Inc. was founded in 1999 on the principals of providing …” - [Official Website](http://www.bernierremodeling.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): New Haven, Fairfield, Middlesex” - 5 stars from 43 Google ratings and 5.0 from 2 Houzz ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Houzz](https://www.houzz.com/professionals/kitchen-and-bath-remodelers/bernier-building-and-remodeling-inc-pfvwus-pf~93427637) — “Houzz: 5.0★ from 2 ratings” - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Bernier%20Building%20%26%20Remodeling%2C%20Inc.&query_place_id=ChIJPwz29ZF06IkRf9Et_-OxPBc) — “Google: 5★ from 43 ratings” - Bathroom remodels in older homes finished on the agreed timeline _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChdDSUhNMG9nS0VJQ0FnSUNYOHZXRWt3RRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x173cb1e3ff2dd17f!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEICAgICX8vWEkwE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ We just completed remodeling our master bathroom and renovating our guest bathroom with Jason Bernier, Bernier Building and Remodeling.
