Last 6 months: 31 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read Bees swarming out of a nest in the front yard, yellow jackets in the walls, a hornet nest over the sunroom: these are the calls Bethwood Pest Elimination gets. The company says on its website that owner Al Ryan performs all initial and inside services and that it has worked New Haven County and some adjacent towns for 20 years; its stated service area includes Ansonia, Bethany, Branford, Derby, Hamden, Milford and New Haven. It holds 5 stars from 73 Google ratings and 4.9 from 56 on Angi, and its BBB page shows an A+ grade. One customer whose ground nest of bees began to swarm during shrub trimming says Al came over the next day, and the bees are gone. A customer with yellow jackets nesting in the walls under two windows and the porch says he came out the next day and treated the nests, which were dead almost right away, at prices below what they expected. For a bald-faced hornet nest on a sunroom corner 8 feet off the ground, a customer says he came over that day with a very fair price. A first-time customer with a yellow jacket nest says Al explained the procedure, said the work was guaranteed and that he would return if they were not gone within a few days; they did not return. The work goes beyond stinging insects. When one customer had a mouse in the house, Al inspected the house and garage, advised how to place the traps they had been using, and did not charge for the visit; the mouse was caught the next day. A customer who thought they had termites says Bethwood diagnosed black ants and told them to try treating it themselves; when that did not work, the company did the treatment and the ants were gone. A 2025 customer with yellow jackets coming in through the bathroom fan said Al found the nest, used a safe application because of the customer's pesticide allergies, and avoided treating inside the walls; within a week there were no more yellow jackets. A 2025 customer said mice were getting into their garages and car over the winter months, and Al took care of the problem. In a 2014 Angi review, a customer with termites in the garage said the work was done in a day, and when a small area needed further attention, Al was at the house within an hour and took care of it at no additional charge. Connecticut lists its pesticide applicator licence, PMBR.02293, as active, held by Bethwood Pest Elimination, LLC. **Strengths:** - A next-day bee visit — a customer says Al came the day after the swarm - A free mouse visit — a customer says Al advised on traps at no charge - Pesticide-allergy care — a 2025 customer said Al used a safe application - Termite follow-up — a 2014 customer said Al returned within an hour ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - The company says owner Al Ryan performs all initial and inside services _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://bethwoodpest.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Fast, efficient, and honest, Bethwood Pest Elimination has become a reputable and well-known service provid…” - Says it has served New Haven County and some adjacent towns for 20 years _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://bethwoodpest.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Fast, efficient, and honest, Bethwood Pest Elimination has become a reputable and well-known service provid…” - Stated service area includes Ansonia, Bethany, Branford, Derby, Hamden, Milford and New Haven _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://bethwoodpest.com) — “Stated service area (self-reported): Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Bethany, Branford, Cheshire, Derby, East Haven, Guilford, Hamden, Middlebury, Mi…” - 5 stars from 73 Google ratings and 4.9 from 56 Angi ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Bethwood%20Pest%20Elimination&query_place_id=ChIJxYBhu2zF54kR8NXXHnhAve8) — “Google: 5★ from 73 ratings” - [Angi](https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ct/bethany/bethwood-pest-elimination-llc-reviews-4461426.htm) — “Angi: 4.9★ from 56 ratings” - A+ grade on its BBB page _(confidence: high)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ct/bethany/profile/pest-control/bethwood-pest-elimination-llc-0111-87016562) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A+” - Customers with bee and yellow jacket nests say Al came the next day _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT25OclUybDZSVXhKWlV3MFZYRkplSEl5UVVwaWIyYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xefbd40781ed7d5f0!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOnNrU2l6RUxJZUw0VXFJeHIyQUpib2c%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ I had a bees nest in the ground in the front yard of my home.
