One recent customer had the family room, living room" doc_version: "2026-10-19" last_updated: "2026-10-19" --- # Better Built Kitchens and Bathrooms **Trade:** Kitchen Remodel · **Address:** 239 Christian Ln, Berlin, CT 06037 · **Phone:** (860) 829-8587 · **Website:** https://betterbuiltkitchensandbathrooms.com/ · **Languages:** English **Rating: 3.7/5** (high confidence) — from 28 reviews across 8 sources. 86% of sentiment-scored reviews read net-positive. One recent customer had the family room, living room, kitchen, dining room, powder room and hallways redone, with the office sending in plumbers, electricians, painters and cabinet installers in turn, and says it finished on the promised date. The company says it has been in business 18 years. Another recent job combined a small kitchen, hallway and butler's pantry into one space with a large custom island, plus a mudroom with custom cabinets, ski lockers and a fireplace mantle. A recent basement customer describes a living room area, a gym, a golf simulator area and a wet bar with green cabinets. A recent homeowner says Randy came out about heat tape for an ice-dam issue and suggested checking the attic insulation and soffit ventilation first instead of selling the installation. A 2026 customer who hired the company for new kitchen cabinets said an installer came back with the wrong sink and the contracted sink had to be ordered. That customer said they took the display sink home and had it installed, paid for a new sink, and heard nothing from the salesperson afterward. A 2025 customer said the company ordered a bathroom mirror too large for the wall and could not return it, so they bought another at their own expense. In 2022, a post on r/Connecticut said "Better Built Baths and Kitchens" was threatening to sue over an online review. A 2022 Google reviewer warned that the company may try to sue customers who post a negative review. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0674237, as active, held by BETTER BUILT KITCHENS AND BATHROOMS. **Strengths:** - A first-floor renovation — a recent customer says it finished on the promised date - A finished basement — a recent customer describes a gym and wet bar - Honest heat-tape advice — a recent homeowner says Randy pointed to insulation first **Concerns:** - A wrong sink — a 2026 customer said no salesperson followed up afterward - An oversized mirror — a 2025 customer paid for a replacement - Lawsuit threats — a 2022 post said it threatened to sue over a review ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 3.9 stars on Google from 41 ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Better%20Built%20Kitchens%20and%20Bathrooms&query_place_id=ChIJV2gLhAWz54kRCS3mi9br9q4) — “Google: 3.9★ from 41 ratings” - A recent customer says a first-floor renovation finished on the promised date _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT214YVowNWZYMDVZWjJsb2VYSmZaM1F6WmpOUmNWRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xaef6ebd68be62d09!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOmxaZ05fX05YZ2loeXJfZ3QzZjNRcVE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Because of the open concept in our house we couldn't just do the kitchen..we needed a full renovation of the first floor.
