## The honest read

Blacktop Rangers LLC seals driveways, and on Google it holds 5 stars from 122 ratings. Its website explains that when asphalt is exposed to sunlight and water, the oil components break down and the pavement slowly begins to separate.

A recent customer says one man came out and did the sealcoating solo: he edged the grass, blew out the debris, and used commercial hot-pour sealant to fill cracks and the garage joint before a squeegee-applied coat. A recent reviewer says Marcus filled all the cracks and applied the sealer with a squeegee, leaving an old driveway looking almost brand new.

In a 2024 review, a customer described hand application that let his proprietary mix soak in, with the thresholds to the garages filled and sealed to prevent water infiltration. A 2024 reviewer said Marcus filled several larger cracks and a few other spots he found while doing the job. A 2024 customer wrote that it was their second time using the service. A 2023 customer said Marcus worked around their schedule and patched and sealed a driveway more than 20 years old. In a 2022 review, a customer said Marcus filled a few cracks and added beading where the driveway meets the garage at no extra charge.

A 2026 customer gave one star, saying the sealant was applied the same day it rained and reapplied the next day while the driveway still had moisture from the rain. That 2026 customer said several attempts to reach out were ignored and that they were left with visible streak marks and fading spots.

**Strengths:**
- Crack filling — a recent customer said Marcus filled all the cracks
- A sealed garage joint — a recent customer said hot-pour sealant filled it
- Extra crack work — a 2024 customer said Marcus filled other spots he found

**Concerns:**
- Sealing on rain day — a 2026 customer said sealant went on the day it rained
- An ignored complaint — a 2026 customer said several attempts to reach out were ignored
