Bourne's Energy's website lists heating oil, Bioheat fuel, propane, wood pellets, mini-split heat pumps, auto delivery and emergency service, and names Waterbury, Montpelier, Milton, Newport and Waitsfield in its service area.

Local news sites have reported that Bourne's Energy was sold to Dead River Company, and a 2024 r/vermont commenter wrote that Bourne's "Sold out to Dead River". A 2026 bpnews.com article described the company as a retail propane distributor with six locations in northern Vermont, contracted to provide heating oil to one of the buildings on a property in Stowe. A wcax.com report calls the company the first to bring renewable propane into Vermont for heating.

In 2023, a Reddit commenter wrote that Bourne's Energy "has always served us well." A 2024 r/vermont commenter wrote "Bourne’s, also Northfield & Waitsfield, excellent service."
