A section of a fence they had installed years earlier, taken down for a project and put back months later. Brockton Fence Co keeps showing up for those calls long after the original install is paid for. The company says it has been putting up fence since 1969, and it still runs as a family business out of Brockton. Charlie — Charles to some customers — is who people deal with: he comes out for the site visit, quotes the job, and by several accounts talks homeowners through options they had not thought of. The crews get named too. Jose worked through a 90-degree August day in 2025, then hosed the finished fence down and smoothed the ground before he left; Bruno ran a September 2025 job on his own. The range is wood, vinyl, chain link, aluminium, iron, ornamental, picket, pool and privacy fencing, with free estimates, a three-year labor warranty and lifetime manufacturer material warranties on vinyl and ornamental. Its Better Business Bureau file is accredited with an A+. Google shows 4.6 stars across 71 ratings, and a commenter in an April 2026 r/SouthShore thread described the company as family run and doing good work. Price comes up again and again. A June 2026 reviewer had already called four other fence companies before landing here. A September 2023 customer said this quote was the lowest of the many they collected, and an October 2023 customer said the price came in under what they had expected. The complaints land almost entirely before the work starts. In October 2025 a homeowner said a promised estimate never arrived after two and a half weeks and five phone calls. In December 2024 another said the company no-showed a Saturday consultation. A June 2024 customer wrote that they had paid a deposit and could not get a call back about a start date, then added that Charlie had since phoned. In May 2022, a customer said Charlie cashed a $1,300 deposit without doing the work and that they were filing a claim in court. An October 2021 reviewer who praised the field crews said the owner pushed them to cut corners. If you want a fence from a shop that still picks up the phone years later when a storm takes a panel out, several customers here describe exactly that. Get the start date and the deposit terms in writing before you pay anything, and if an estimate has not arrived by the day you were promised, call again rather than wait. **Strengths:** - Storm callbacks — a damaged fence repaired the next day in 2024 - Warranty backing — three-year labor plus lifetime vinyl material warranties - Competitive quotes — customers who shopped three or four companies chose this one - Owner involvement — Charlie runs the site visits and walks through options - Named installers — Jose and Bruno credited by customers for their work - Clean job sites — debris hauled away and ground smoothed after install **Concerns:** - Estimates going quiet — one 2025 customer waited weeks after five calls - Missed consultation — a booked 2024 Saturday appointment was a no-show - Deposit dispute — a 2022 customer said $1,300 was cashed without work - Start-date chasing — a 2024 deposit payer could not get a call back **Where sources disagree:** - A June 2024 review carries a five-star rating while its text describes an unpaid-out deposit and no start date, with a line added afterwards saying Charlie had called. ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - A family-owned Brockton fence company; its site says it has been installing fence since 1969 _(confidence: high)_ - [Official Website](https://www.brocktonfence.com) — “Company history (self-reported): The site states Brockton Fence Co has been providing fencing since 1969 and describes itself as founded in …” - [Official Website](https://www.brocktonfence.com) — “Ownership (self-reported): Local, family-owned business” - [Official Website](https://www.brocktonfence.com) — “Stated ownership (self-reported): Family-owned” - Wood, vinyl, chain link, aluminium, iron, ornamental, picket, pool and privacy fencing, with free estimates _(confidence: high)_ - [Official Website](https://www.brocktonfence.com) — “Brockton Fence Co of Brockton, MA installs and repairs wood, vinyl, chain link, aluminium, iron, ornamental, picket, pool and privacy fencin…” - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ma/brockton/profile/fence-contractors/brockton-fence-0021-35236) — “Services offered (Better Business Bureau): Chain-Link, Fence Installation, Fence Repair, Ornamental, Vinyl, Wood, prep work, design, mainten…” - A three-year labor warranty plus lifetime manufacturer material warranties on vinyl and ornamental fencing _(confidence: high)_ - [Official Website](https://www.brocktonfence.com) — “Brockton Fence Co of Brockton, MA installs and repairs wood, vinyl, chain link, aluminium, iron, ornamental, picket, pool and privacy fencin…” - Accredited with an A+ grade on its Better Business Bureau file _(confidence: high)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ma/brockton/profile/fence-contractors/brockton-fence-0021-35236) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A+” - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ma/brockton/profile/fence-contractors/brockton-fence-0021-35236) — “Better Business Bureau: accredited / certified / member” - A 4.6-star average across 71 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Brockton%20Fence%20Co&query_place_id=ChIJAQDMXSiF5IkRxS63XWsXoHQ) — “Google: 4.6★ from 71 ratings” - Storm damage repaired the next day for a past customer, December 2024 _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sChdDSUhNMG9nS0VJQ0FnSUR2MVBES2lnRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x74a0176b5db72ec5!3m1!1s2@1:CIHM0ogKEICAgIDv1PDKigE%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ Super satisfied with the great job Brockton Fence did installing our fence awhile back.
