## The honest read

A basement that sometimes held half an inch of water, two years of research and quotes, then interior drainage with a sump pump: in a December 2024 Google review, the customer wrote that a huge storm with inches of rain put Budget Dry's install to the test, and the basement stayed completely dry. Budget Dry Basement Waterproofing in Killingworth holds 4.8★ from 512 Google ratings, and its website names Danbury and Killingworth as its service area.

Recent reviews turn to the annual maintenance visits, and to Cayden, the technician on them. A September 2026 customer whose pump was 14 yrs old said Cayden told them it would eventually need replacing and sent an estimate on request; an August 2026 review says he serviced the sump pump and replaced the check valve. In July 2025, he fixed a leak in an 8-year old dehumidifier past its warranty, and a June 2025 customer said he extended a sump pump drainage line on a brutally hot day. A June 2025 reviewer wrote that the company quoted what was required, installed a pump with battery back-up in one day, and the quote matched the billing.

There are complaints. A July 2026 customer who praised Cayden said the company did not tell them about a change in the warranty on an older system until the day of service, when they needed to buy a new one. An April 2026 Google reviewer said the company kept calling and leaving voicemails for years after being told no. In a March 2024 review, a customer said the 15’ of discharge pipe supplied created a retention pond in the back yard and the company refused to fix it.

Angi and HomeAdvisor each show 4.7★ from 196 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+. The website offers free estimates.

Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0616126, is active.

**Strengths:**
- Dry basements — 2024 and 2025 reviews report no water after installs
- Maintenance visits — 2026 reviews describe annual pump and dehumidifier checks
- Quote held — 2025 customer says the bill matched the quote

**Concerns:**
- Warranty notice — 2026 customer learned of a warranty change on service day
- Unwanted calls — 2026 review cites years of calls after declining
- Discharge pipe — 2024 customer says yard pooling went unfixed
