Last 6 months: 3 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read Byrd's Contracting, LLC describes itself on its website as a family owned and operated general contracting company in Connecticut that focuses on home remodeling projects, and its site names Bristol in its service area. On Google it holds 4.9 stars from 25 ratings, and its BBB grade is A+. A recent customer said the company put a new roof on their mother's house, with debris constantly picked up and the outside left clean at completion. A recent job covered a full renovation of an unfinished bonus room above a garage, new flooring in the attached bedroom and sheet rocking the entire garage; that customer said there were lots of hurdles with the Town to obtain permits, and that Byrd's Contracting came through. A recent customer wrote that Tim and his crew did their kitchen. A 2025 customer said they first hired Tim Byrd in 2022 for tile floors, a large window and an outside door, again in 2023 for two bathrooms, and then for a kitchen renovation that included removing walls, one of them load bearing, a new 8 ft window and a 9 ft island. That 2025 customer said the kitchen job was finished within the scheduled timeframe. A 2025 customer said a weathered, rotted screen porch was converted into a three-season room within budget and on time. A 2026 customer said the company redid the windows with new trim and installed a sliding door in a bedroom. A 2024 customer hired Tim for a master bath remodel and a basement refinishing, and said his crew made the adjustments the town inspector needed. A 2023 reviewer wrote that Byrd built a 650 sf two-car garage with a 400 sf attic in difficult site conditions. A 2025 customer said a steam shower master bathroom took a little longer than hoped, and that the pricing came in under many other bidding contractors. A 2023 customer who hired Byrd for a garage project called the work ok quality, said the sheet rock was a little sloppy in places and a section of drywall was left unfinished. That 2023 customer also said the garage doors were measured incorrectly, the project was delayed significantly because the floor installer was stuck out of town, and the contractor and at least one subcontractor were disrespectful to the reviewer's wife. Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0650126, as active, held by Byrds Contracting LLC. **Strengths:** - A clean roof job — a recent customer said debris was constantly picked up - Bonus-room renovation — a recent customer said Byrd's came through despite permit hurdles - A kitchen renovation — a 2025 customer said it finished within the scheduled timeframe **Concerns:** - A garage project — a 2023 customer cited mismeasured doors and unfinished drywall - A delayed job — a 2023 customer said the floor installer was stuck out of town - A slower bathroom — a 2025 customer said it took longer than hoped ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Describes itself as a family owned and operated general contracting company in Connecticut focused on home remodeling _(confidence: high)_ - [Official Website](https://www.byrdscontracting.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Family owned and operated general contracting company located in Connecticut, We focus on quality home remo…” - 4.9 stars from 25 Google ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Byrd's%20Contracting%2C%20LLC&query_place_id=ChIJWftpXeja54kRDOwVuKcw3Bk) — “Google: 4.9★ from 25 ratings” - BBB grade A+ _(confidence: high)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ct/bristol/profile/home-improvement/byrds-contracting-llc-0111-87113418) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A+” - A recent customer said debris was constantly picked up during a roof replacement and the outside was left clean _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT25GRlpsRnliR042WkVVNVJ6UklUVEkwV0VWVWRGRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x19dc30a7b815ec0c!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOnFFZlFybGN6ZEU5RzRITTI0WEVUdFE%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ My mother needed a new roof on her house.
