## The honest read

C&R Landscaping & Masonry Inc. does landscaping and stone work, and the company says it has been in business for 30 years. On Google it holds 3.9 stars from 8 ratings.

A 2023 customer said they had used C&R for 12 years, and that Carlos built about 300 linear feet of four-foot-high stone walls, set bluestone walkways designed by their landscape architect and installed a ten-foot Belgian block driveway apron. That 2023 customer also said he plowed their driveway and shoveled their walks every winter and was priced competitively.

A 2024 customer said C and R rebuilt the entire front of their property. A 2023 customer said Carlos, Michelle and the team transformed their front and back yards, with the work led by Michelle's supervision.

A recent customer says they are stuck in a contract with the company. That customer ordered dark brown mulch and got a dirt-colored mulch, says small shrubs were trimmed as if they were a hedge, and calls the company pricey.

**Strengths:**
- Stone walls and walkways — a 2023 customer described about 300 feet of stone walls
- A front-yard rebuild — a 2024 customer said the entire front was rebuilt

**Concerns:**
- Wrong mulch color — a recent customer got dirt-colored mulch, not dark brown
- Shrub trimming — a recent customer says small shrubs were cut like a hedge
- A binding contract — a recent customer says they are stuck in one
