# Canova Construction **Trade:** General Contractor / Remodeling · **Address:** 20 Prospect St, Marblehead, MA 01945, USA · **Phone:** (781) 718-4321 · **Languages:** English **Rating: 3.4/5** (low confidence) — from 2 reviews across 4 sources. ## The honest read Canova Construction is a Marblehead general contractor whose story goes back to 1982, when Joseph Canova started out renovating investment properties and building spec houses before a stint in industrial development work for F.W. Webb. Today the company says it focuses on North Shore residential renovation — condominiums, historical homes, additions and small new construction — often stripping a building back to its structural frame before rebuilding. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, held under Joseph M. Canova's name. The two Google reviews on file, one from 2024 and one from early 2025, both describe five-star experiences: consistently high-quality work with an eye for design, flexible to work with, and delivered on schedule. Houzz and BuildZoom both list a broader mix of renovation work — kitchens, bathrooms, basements, additions — through their own service categories, though neither platform carries independent customer reviews for this business yet. For a homeowner considering a larger renovation, addition or historical-home project on the North Shore, the license is active and in order, the reviews on file are positive, and the company's own account of four decades in the trade points to substantial experience beyond what's captured in reviews so far. **Strengths:** - Verified license — Massachusetts HIC registration is active - Design-forward work — a 2025 review praised quality and design sense - Long history — company traces its work back to 1982 ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration is active, held under Joseph M.
