Last 6 months: 3 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read Cape Cod Pro Builders and Remodeling is a general contracting company based in West Yarmouth, Massachusetts, serving towns across Cape Cod. The company says owner and founder Altiman Peterkin has been in construction and renovation for over 20 years, and Massachusetts's licensing registry lists an active Home Improvement Contractor license (HIC #217949) held by Cape Cod Pro Builders And Remodeling LLC. The company has built a large, mostly five-star review record on Google — 47 reviews since 2023, with a 4.6-star average across 49 ratings. Homeowners consistently praise deck construction and repair, describing rebuilt and replaced decks, composite decking and cable rail installs, and rotted-wood repairs completed on time and, in several reviews, at a fair price. Bathroom and basement remodels, kitchen and floor replacement, siding and re-shingling, and additions such as a mudroom also come up repeatedly across the years of reviews, with homeowners crediting Altiman and his crew for clean, detail-oriented work and for staying in touch throughout the job. In the past six months, four new Google reviews are all five stars, describing a deck remodel, a renovation finished on time with regular updates, and a floor replacement praised for a stress-free process. The record isn't spotless. In a 2023 review, a homeowner said Peterkin left a job undone, made excuses, and pushed to be paid early; another 2023 review described wasted materials and unprofessional behavior, including missing from the job site for weeks at a time. A 2024 review about a bathroom renovation said the final result was good but the job did not come close to meeting an agreed timeline. These are a small share of the 47 reviews on file, most of which describe the opposite experience, but they're worth asking about directly — get a clear payment schedule and a written timeline before work starts. Cape Cod Pro Builders and Remodeling is a solid option for exterior work like decks and siding as well as interior remodels — kitchens, bathrooms, basements and flooring — for homeowners across Cape Cod, backed by an active state contractor license and years of consistent five-star feedback; just nail down payment terms and scheduling in writing given the handful of reviews that flagged those issues. **Strengths:** - Repeat deck praise — homeowners across several years credit rebuilt and replaced decks - Fair, transparent pricing — multiple reviewers specifically call the pricing fair or reasonable - Active state license — Massachusetts registry lists a current home improvement contractor license **Concerns:** - Payment timing — a 2023 review said the contractor pushed for early payment before finishing - Scheduling reliability — a 2024 review and a 2023 review described missed timelines **Where sources disagree:** - The Google review record is overwhelmingly five-star, but two 2023 reviews allege unfinished work and unprofessional conduct that stand apart from the rest of the record. ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Massachusetts's licensing registry lists an active Home Improvement Contractor license (HIC #217949) held by Cape Cod Pro Builders And Remodeling LLC. _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://contractorhub.mass.gov/s/hic-contractor-search) — “MA hic license 217949 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: Cape Cod Pro Builders And Remodeling LLC” - The Better Business Bureau grades the business A and lists it under General Contractor. _(confidence: high)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ma/yarmouth/profile/general-contractor/cape-cod-pro-builders-and-remodeling-0021-562990) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A” - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ma/yarmouth/profile/general-contractor/cape-cod-pro-builders-and-remodeling-0021-562990) — “Services offered (Better Business Bureau): General Contractor” - Google shows a 4.6-star average across 49 ratings. _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://maps.google.com/?cid=1147634817552488384&g_mp=CiVnb29nbGUubWFwcy5wbGFjZXMudjEuUGxhY2VzLkdldFBsYWNlEAIYBCAA) — “Google: 4.6★ from 49 ratings” - The company says owner and founder Altiman Peterkin has been in construction and renovation for over 20 years. _(confidence: high)_ - [Official Website](https://capeprobuilders.com) — “Ownership (self-reported): Owner and founder Altiman Peterkin” - [Official Website](https://capeprobuilders.com) — “Company history (self-reported): Established by owner and founder Altiman Peterkin, who has been in construction and renovation for over 20 …” - [Official Website](https://capeprobuilders.com) — “Self-reported 20 years in business” - Homeowners repeatedly praise deck construction, repair and replacement across reviews spanning 2023 to 2026, including composite decking and cable rail work. _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT25NMFZWTlFOeko2Y0RaTVZXOUhkVlZ5WnpCa2NsRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xfed37c9401617c0!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOnM0VVNQNzJ6cDZMVW9HdVVyZzBkclE%7C%7C?hl=en) — “5★ Cape Cod Pro Builders did a fantastic job completing my back deck!
