That customer said John from Carefree came out that week, spent a couple hours and got it working, then gave a few pointers on areas to monitor. Carefree Heating & Cooling, LLC offers heating and air conditioning installation and service, according to its BBB listing, where it holds an A+ grade. The company says on its website that it has been in business 24 years. A 2024 customer said Jon walked through the pros and cons of the options and did not push replacing both units when only one had to go. In that 2024 account, the outdoor units were swapped without disturbing mature landscaping around them. Its Connecticut D1 heating and cooling licence, HTG.0396800-D1, is active, held by Jonathan P Crowe. **Strengths:** - A second-opinion AC repair — a 2025 customer said John got it working - Options explained — a 2024 customer said Jon did not push a double replacement ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - A 2025 customer said John got an AC working after another company called for a $14k condenser and air handler replacement _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2t0WU5rcFBjRmM1VW1wSVUzazNlSGRmWkhkSlgyYxAB!2m1!1s0x0:0x587c04eb6d09ce6b!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOktYNkpPcFc5UmpIU3k3eHdfZHdJX2c%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ John was fantastic and got the job done.
