The company describes itself as a design-build carpentry and remodeling contractor taking on custom homes, kitchen and bath renovations, historical restorations, decks and additions for residential and light commercial clients. Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration, #179948, is active on the state registry. On BuildZoom, the company's service list runs to doors and windows, cabinets, decks and porches, finish carpentry and deck repair, and seven permitted projects appear on the profile. The site names Michael Medeiros as founder and owner, calls the business family-owned, says it has more than 25 years behind it, and gives Andover as the service area. One thing to have in hand before you call: BuildZoom also lists a second Home Improvement Contractor number for the company, #166755, so look both that and #179948 up on the state's licence check and confirm which one the contract will be written under. For trim and built-in work, a set of cabinets, a deck, or a period house that needs carpentry done to match, this is the right kind of shop to talk to. Ask to see photos and addresses from two or three finished jobs like yours, get references you can actually call, and have the contract spell out scope, schedule and payment stages before anyone starts. **Strengths:** - Registry-verified licence — Massachusetts home improvement registration #179948 is active - Finish carpentry focus — trim, cabinets, doors and decks lead the service list - Permitted project history — seven permitted projects appear on its BuildZoom profile - Long-running local shop — the site claims 25-plus years, family owned ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - The company describes itself as an Andover design-build carpentry and remodeling contractor working on custom homes, kitchen and bath renovations, finish carpentry, historical restorations, decks and additions for residential and light commercial clients _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://thecarpentersedge.com) — “An Andover, MA design-build carpentry and remodeling contractor doing custom homes, kitchen and bath renovations, finish carpentry, historic…” - Its Massachusetts home improvement contractor registration #179948 is active on the state registry, held by Carpenters Edge Inc _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://contractorhub.mass.gov/s/hic-contractor-search) — “MA hic license 179948 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: CARPENTERS EDGE INC.” - BuildZoom lists doors and windows, cabinets, decks and porches, finish carpentry and deck repair _(confidence: high)_ - [BuildZoom](https://www.buildzoom.com/contractor/carpenters-edge-inc) — “Services offered (BuildZoom): Doors and Windows, Cabinets, Decks and Porches, Finish Carpentry, Deck Repair” - Seven permitted projects appear on the company's BuildZoom profile _(confidence: medium)_ - [BuildZoom](https://www.buildzoom.com/contractor/carpenters-edge-inc) — “7 project(s) shown on BuildZoom” - [BuildZoom](https://www.buildzoom.com/contractor/carpenters-edge-inc) — “BuildZoom profile for Carpenters Edge Inc, 10 Greenbriar Cir, Andover MA, (617) 594-3350, owned by Michael Medeiros — the row's exact addres…” - BuildZoom lists a second Massachusetts Home Improvement Contractor number for the company, #166755 _(confidence: low)_ - [BuildZoom](https://www.buildzoom.com/contractor/carpenters-edge-inc) — “Licence listed on BuildZoom: MA Home Improvement Contractor #166755 (BuildZoom: status Inactive, 'at one point cancelled')” - The company's site names Michael Medeiros as founder and owner and calls the business a family-owned local business _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://thecarpentersedge.com) — “Company history (self-reported): The site names 'Founder and Owner, Michael Medeiros' and states 'With over 25 years of experience and as a …” - [Official Website](https://thecarpentersedge.com) — “Ownership (self-reported): Owner/operator Michael Medeiros, named on the site as founder and owner;
