## The honest read

A chimney that only needed repointing is where one recent customer's story starts: other companies would only do a rebuild, and John took on the repoint instead. That customer said John was clear about what the job would entail and how much it would cost, and that they never felt pressured into unnecessary work.

Casco Bay Chimney & Masonry Co names Westbrook and Casco as its service area. On its website the company says its focus is masonry repointing, flashing issues, cleanings and repairs, along with waterproofing, and it says it has been in business 39 years. On Google it holds 4.2 stars from 18 ratings.

John took down four broken layers on top of one customer's chimney and sealed it, and that customer said the work went very quickly. A customer who called about a chimney said John called back immediately, came over to look at it, emailed an estimate a few days later, and was back within a couple of days to point and seal the chimney. A customer said John charged a reasonable price and explained exactly what was needed, without pushing anything that wasn't.

**Strengths:**
- Repoint over rebuild — did a repoint when other companies would only rebuild
- A quick callback — a customer said John called back immediately
- Clear on cost — John explained what the job would entail and cost
- No pressure — a customer felt no push toward unnecessary work
