## The honest read

Central Massachusetts Oil delivers home heating fuels and offers 24-hour burner service, pre-purchase oil programs and air conditioning maintenance, according to what the company told the Better Business Bureau. In a 2024 review, a customer said it installed a new forced hot air furnace with ductwork, in and out in 6 hours.

The company says it has been in business for 35 years and handles maintenance checks and emergency repairs on heating and cooling units.

A 2025 reviewer said that while they were 12,000 miles away for 5 weeks in mid-winter, with difficult access conditions, the company kept the oil tank full and the boiler running. A 2024 reviewer who had used the company for 25 years called the company knowledgeable and on time. A 2023 reviewer said it had been their provider since they moved to Rutland 12 years earlier.

A 2025 reviewer wrote that the company left them with no heat during a very cold day and said they would never use it again. A recent one-star reviewer complained that its oil was the highest priced on a Central Mass oil prices website.

**Strengths:**
- A six-hour furnace install — a 2024 customer said a furnace and ductwork went in
- Winter tank watch — a 2025 customer away 5 weeks said the tank stayed full

**Concerns:**
- A no-heat day — a 2025 customer said they were left without heat
- An oil price complaint — a recent customer called it highest priced on a price site
