## The honest read

Outdoor lights that quit, a corroded panel, a garage outlet for an electric car: these are the jobs people call Chestnut Electric Corporation for. Its website names a service area that includes Wilton, Ridgefield, Redding, Stamford and Rye, and the company says it has been in business 4 years.

A recent customer said a first electrician could not find why their outdoor lights stopped working. Jacek and Mike came two days later, found a buried junction box that was falling apart within the first 30 minutes, and replaced it. A recent customer said Scott, Reese and Max removed two old chandeliers and installed two new large ones.

A 2026 customer said Scott and Dennis replaced a corroded electrical panel and several light fixtures, then came back free of charge to add a breaker for a hot tub. A 2026 customer wrote that Nick came out to quote the job, and Scott and Adrian installed a 240 outlet in the garage and three fixtures, replaced an exhaust fan and relocated a socket in a few hours. A 2025 customer said the company ran everything out to the garage for an electric-vehicle outlet and came back 7 months later to finish it at no extra cost. A 2023 customer said Nick called back right away on the after-hours hotline after a power outage left the house without heat, and worked through the problem over the phone.

A 2022 customer said Nick quoted a 6-week wait for a home generator, declined the smaller outlet jobs, and, after a lightning strike shorted their well pump and left the house with no water, replied that he had 10 emergencies in front of them.

Connecticut lists its electrician licence, ELC.0199620-E1, as active, held by Chestnut Electric Corp.

**Strengths:**
- Outdoor lighting repair — a recent customer said a buried junction box was replaced
- Panel replacement — a 2026 customer said a corroded panel was replaced
