## The honest read

One customer heard birds or debris moving around inside the chimney and felt a strange draft from the fireplace. Chimcare inspected the chimney, found a damaged chimney cap, replaced it and checked the rest of the chimney to make sure everything was secure.

Chimcare describes itself as a chimney sweep and fireplace service in Providence, and says it offers 24/7 emergency service. Its website lists a service area that runs from Providence, Cranston, Pawtucket and Johnston to Boston, Cambridge, Newton and Quincy.

A customer who noticed deterioration on the outside of a chimney said the technician did a thorough inspection, found a few areas that needed attention, and that they repaired the damaged sections and sealed everything up. A customer who booked an inspection said they checked everything from the top down, pointed out a couple of things the customer would not have noticed, and called the crew friendly and easy to work with. One customer said long-overdue chimney maintenance came with a clear explanation of the work, and everything was left neat afterward.

**Strengths:**
- Thorough inspections — checked from the top down, problems pointed out
- Chimney cap replacement — damaged cap found and replaced after debris noises
- A neat finish — the work was explained and everything left neat
