## The honest read

Cicchetti Construction is a Saugus general contractor whose written record is thin and now well over a decade old — three reviews, from 2012 and 2014, split between strong praise and a detailed complaint.

Two 2012 reviews describe good experiences: one customer described the contractor running into a lead-remediation certification gap mid-project and going through state coursework to get properly certified rather than skip the requirement, calling the finished work amazing; a second simply said the finished project was handled well and matched exactly what was asked for.

The 2014 review tells a different story. That customer described the job falling behind schedule, the contractor disappearing for several days mid-project, an attempt to renegotiate the already-contracted price upward by more than $15,000 unrelated to any change in scope, concrete poured in January cold that later cracked, and warranty calls that went unreturned.

Neither Angi nor HomeAdvisor lists a license number for the business, and the company's own FAQ on Angi states it does not offer warranties — worth asking about directly, especially given the 2014 account of unreturned warranty calls.

Given how old and how limited the written record is, anyone considering Cicchetti today should treat both the praise and the complaint as history rather than a current read, and confirm licensing, warranty terms and references directly before signing a contract.

**Strengths:**
- Went the extra mile — got lead-certified mid-project rather than skip it
- Precise execution — one client said it matched exactly what they wanted

**Concerns:**
- 2014 complaint — schedule slipped, contractor unreachable for days
- Price dispute — tried adding $15,000+ unrelated to scope changes
- Workmanship issue — concrete poured in cold weather later cracked
- No license listed — and no warranties offered per its own FAQ

**Where sources disagree:**
- The 2014 review complains about unreturned warranty calls, while the business's own Angi FAQ states it does not offer warranties at all — unclear whether that policy predates or postdates the review, but the two accounts sit in tension.
