## The honest read

Boilers, baseboard heat and leaks are the jobs that come through for Cj's Plumbing & Heating Specialists. Its website lists Smithfield, Johnston and Woonsocket as its service area and says the company has been in business 29 years.

A recent Google customer said they had used the company in a few emergencies and the issue was always solved. A recent Google reviewer praised the installation of a new boiler. A recent Google customer said the company fixed a dryer and also looked at a shower drain and made recommendations. A recent Thumbtack customer gave one star and wrote that no one showed up.

A 2021 customer said the company called ahead, diagnosed a leak in a kitchen pipe that was dripping into the basement, and fixed the drip. A 2020 customer described a hot water tank and boiler replacement project with Chris and his team. A 2018 customer said the company removed old cast iron baseboard in a kitchen to make way for sliding patio doors, then installed copper piping and fittings to reconnect the remaining baseboard. A 2018 reviewer described an oil to gas conversion and said they were kept informed of what was happening. A 2018 customer who was scheduled on short notice thought the price was towards the higher end of average for the service.

A 2017 customer flipping a house said a Navien Combi was installed for use with propane, and that the company installed about 100 feet of baseboard heater, a kick space heater under the sink and the propane lines for the cooking range. A 2017 customer said a leaking tub drain on the third floor was diagnosed and resolved. A 2016 customer described the removal of an old furnace and the installation of a new one, and said the town building and plumbing inspector approved the install in minutes.

**Strengths:**
- Emergency calls — a recent customer said the issue was always solved
- Baseboard piping — a 2018 customer described copper piping reconnecting baseboard
- Oil to gas conversion — a 2018 customer said they were kept informed

**Concerns:**
- Missed visit — a recent Thumbtack customer said no one showed up
- Higher-end price — a 2018 customer found it toward the top of average
