## The honest read

Climate Door & Window is a Rockland shop built around one thing: getting new windows and doors into South Shore homes, with kitchen cabinets and countertops as a sideline. Town permit records put its work in Milton, Plymouth, Braintree, Cohasset, Hingham and Quincy between 2012 and 2020 - replacing rotted windows, swapping out old doors, adding vinyl siding.

Every review on file, going back to 2015, lands at five stars, and they're specific: in a 2015 review, a customer had three exterior doors, a sliding patio door and six custom windows installed and called the materials top quality and energy efficient; another 2015 customer had a full kitchen and all three bathrooms done and singled out an easy working relationship with someone named Steve. A 2020 review describes a simpler job - eight replacement window screens measured, made and installed quickly at a reasonable price - with the same homeowner returning years later for more screens and talking about future window work.

In one of the 2015 reviews, the customer flagged a real snag: the door installation was delayed a long time because of a severe winter, though the windows ordered later went in promptly, and several friends who saw the finished work asked for a referral.

One thing worth asking about directly: Massachusetts records show a home improvement contractor registration for the company that BuildZoom reports as inactive, following a past cancellation - worth confirming its current status before signing anything. BuildZoom also lists an electrical and general contractor license tied to Newton rather than Rockland, which doesn't clearly match this business and hasn't been independently verified.

For anyone in the South Shore towns Climate Door & Window has worked in, replacement windows, exterior doors and siding look like the strongest fit based on its history - a kitchen or bathroom project is less common territory here. Confirm the current registration status when you call.

**Strengths:**
- Repeat 5-star reviews — four straight 5.0-star Houzz reviews for windows, doors and remodeling
- Quality materials — a 2015 review cites top-quality, energy-efficient doors and windows
- Referral-worthy work — a 2015 review says friends asked for a referral after seeing it

**Concerns:**
- Winter install delays — a 2015 review cited a long wait for door installation due to severe winter weather
- Lapsed HIC registration — BuildZoom reports its Massachusetts home improvement registration shown inactive

**Where sources disagree:**
- BuildZoom lists unverified electrical and general contractor license numbers tied to Newton for this business, though its own address and permit history are in Rockland — the match is uncertain and not independently verified

- **5/5 · Houzz · carlalitchfield · 2015-04-25**: Climate Door and Window did our kitchen and all 3 bathrooms and they were great. Steve was so easy to work with and I can be quite indecisive about things. He was extremely patient and informative helping me to achieve the kitchen and bathrooms I had dreamed of. I highly recommend them.
- **5/5 · Houzz · robertabutter · 2015-04-14**: I recently purchased and had installed 3 storm doors and 4 windows by Climate Door & Window. It was a great experience working with them. The doors themselves are a 100% improvement over Emco doors that I had previously bought (and had repaired multiple times). When they came to measure for the wind…
