## The honest read

Front hedges cut, a front stair step corner repaired to match the previous stonework, fresh edging at the sidewalk: that was one recent customer's visit from CM Landscaping and Snow Removal. The company's website calls it a family based company and lists free estimates. On Google it holds 4.9 stars from 60 ratings, and its Better Business Bureau grade is A+.

A recent customer hired the company for spring cleanup, pruning, fertilizing planting beds, a new flower bed and new shrubs, and said the manager, Fredy, was exacting while measuring for the new bed. A recent customer said Luis and his crew have worked on the property for a while and recently installed a sprinkler system. A recent customer with a very overgrown yard said they cleared the entire lot, garden beds and brush overgrowth. After years of struggling with a lawn, a recent customer said Luis brought his team in and the lawn has never looked better. A recent customer used the company a second time for plantings and mulching. A recent customer said they handle lawn, leaves and snow removal.

A 2026 customer said the company installed new chip mulch in a garden that combines mulch, river rock and grass areas, and showed up on schedule. A 2026 customer said a backyard restoration began with a minor scheduling issue that the company made right with a discount. That 2026 customer also said part of the nearby driveway was cleaned at no extra charge. A 2025 customer said Luis gave an estimate the same day and began work on a severely overgrown backyard two days later. A 2025 customer said Luis and his team remodeled their entire lawn, often working late into the evening, and finished well ahead of schedule. A 2025 customer described sod installation and new flower plantings. In 2025, a customer said Luis, the owner, had done the spring cleanup at their home 2 years in a row.

A 2024 customer said Luis agreed to visit a West Haven property to quote backyard work, then stopped responding to calls and texts.

Connecticut lists its home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0666187, as active, held by CM Landscaping and Snow Removal LLC.

**Strengths:**
- Overgrown lot clearing — a recent customer had the entire lot cleared
- A lawn turnaround — a recent customer said it has never looked better
- Careful bed layout — the manager was exacting measuring a new flower bed
- A sprinkler install — put in recently for a customer they already served

**Concerns:**
- A missed quote visit — a 2024 customer said Luis stopped responding
