It holds a 4.9-star Google average across 173 ratings, and its BBB page shows an A grade. A recent customer had a carpet cut and stretched after it developed large wrinkles in the six years since it was installed, and said it looks like a brand new carpet. That customer said Sean responds quickly with a written, detailed estimate. A recent customer who hired the company to refinish the wood floors throughout the house said that when the age of the house caused unexpected difficulties, Sean responded immediately and dispatched his team. A recent customer said Sean ordered a bamboo floor that other flooring companies said they could not get, and Paulo was the installer. A recent customer said the owner brought Berber carpet samples, then returned a few days later with their choice and padding to be sure it would fit under brand new doors. A 2025 customer said the installation team arrived at 8am and finished a kitchen floor within a single day, then returned the next day when a small section of shoe molding was missing below a cabinet. A 2022 customer said a carpet installed two years earlier for $5,100 had wrinkles in all 3 rooms, and that the owner blamed temperature and humidity and refused to fix it unless they paid for someone to stretch it. That 2021 reviewer said flooring companies referred by the manufacturer found the lifting was due to improper installation. **Strengths:** - Carpet stretching — a recent customer said a wrinkled carpet looks brand new - One-day kitchen install — a 2025 customer said the team finished in one day - Bamboo flooring order — a recent customer said Sean got it when others could not **Concerns:** - Carpet wrinkle dispute — a 2022 customer said the owner refused a free fix - Lifting glued planks — a 2021 reviewer said the company wanted repair payment **Where sources disagree:** - A 2021 reviewer said the company blamed room temperature for lifting planks, while flooring companies referred by the manufacturer found improper installation. ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 4.9-star Google average across 173 ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Colonial%20Flooring%20America&query_place_id=ChIJwQkAn17J54kRGORzoUKjys8) — “Google: 4.9★ from 173 ratings” - BBB grade of A _(confidence: high)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/ct/wallingford/profile/floor-coverings/colonial-flooring-america-0111-110094871) — “Better Business Bureau grade: A” - Runs a flooring showroom in Wallingford _(confidence: medium)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT201bGNubFNiblJuUlZCMGVtdG5jamhzVlVaNFMxRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xcfcaa342a173e418!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOm5lcnlSbnRnRVB0emtncjhsVUZ4S1E%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ As a real estate agent, having trusted professionals I can confidently refer to my clients is incredibly important, and Sean and his team…” - A recent customer had a wrinkled carpet cut and stretched _(confidence: high)_ - [Google Reviews](https://www.google.com/maps/reviews/data=!4m8!14m7!1m6!2m5!1sCi9DQUlRQUNvZENodHljRjlvT2s5Vk5VTkJiazlPYlVwelZUZGlPVmwxYzNaRlQwRRAB!2m1!1s0x0:0xcfcaa342a173e418!3m1!1s2@1:CAIQACodChtycF9oOk9VNUNBbk9ObUpzVTdiOVl1c3ZFT0E%7C%7C?hl=en-US) — “5★ Colonial Flooring is very customer oriented.
