Last 6 months: 56 reviews, 0 negative. ## The honest read A tree fell on a fence, and Connecticut Fence Works had it repaired within a week, according to an October 2026 Google review. That kind of follow-through is what people who hire this Berlin fence company describe: on Google it holds 5 stars from 427 ratings, and the company says it is owner-operated and has been working since 2014. The recent reviews are about the work itself. An October 2026 customer had a vinyl fence installed and, after later work on the house changed what they needed, Kurt had a custom gate fabricated to fit. Another October 2026 reviewer described an estimate that came with a same-day design sketch. A September 2026 reviewer said Matt and Kurt helped pick a fence for her dog and the crew finished in one day, and a June 2026 reviewer chose them for a 100+ ft vinyl fence along an area that had held 8 large trees with roots. An August 2026 reviewer hired them again at a new home in Glastonbury because the first fence had held up, and a September 2026 customer wrote that Kurt makes sure you are happy with the work before he bills you. In a July 2025 review, the crew took the extra time to remove a poorly installed chain-link fence and clear the ground before the new install. A 2023 customer needed only a small fence around an AC condenser; Kurt priced it as a filler job and the crew made it their first stop that day. Another 2023 job was a cedar fence with a post-and-wire section enclosing over half an acre on a slope. Its Connecticut HIC license, HIC.0639287, is active on the state registry. The BBB grades the company B- and lists one complaint. On Google, a May 2022 reviewer left a voicemail asking for an estimate and wrote that the call was never returned. **Strengths:** - Storm-damage repair — a tree-damaged fence repaired within a week - Custom gates — a gate fabricated to fit a changed need - Return customers — second fences hired after the first held up **Concerns:** - BBB grade B- — the BBB lists one complaint - Unreturned call — a 2022 reviewer's estimate request went unanswered ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - 5 stars from 427 Google ratings; Angi 4.9 from 123 ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Connecticut%20Fence%20Works%20LLC&query_place_id=ChIJT0OkN7Gz54kRI-Bv_4sivnw) — “Google: 5★ from 427 ratings” - [Angi](https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/ct/berlin/connecticut-fence-works-llc-reviews-1.htm) — “Angi: 4.9★ from 123 ratings” - Connecticut HIC license HIC.0639287 is active on the state registry _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx) — “CT hic license HIC.0639287 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: CONNECTICUT FENCE WORKS LLC” - The company describes itself as an owner-operated fence contractor in Berlin, CT, working since 2014 _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://ctfenceworks.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Connecticut Fence Works is a local owner-operated fence contractor located in Berlin, CT.
