## The honest read

Connecticut Flooring Solutions says on its website that it completes flooring projects in East Haddam, Haddam and surrounding locations, and it claims 50 years in business. A 2024 customer said Don and his team ripped out 1,600 square feet of carpet and installed LVP in 1.5 days, at a fair price compared to the other quotes they got.

A 2025 customer said they hired Don to replace the flooring throughout the upstairs and refinish the downstairs to match, after getting a quote from a well-known national company. That 2025 customer said Don answered all of their questions and kept them informed about what to expect each day. A 2024 customer said they bought carpet through Don and his guys installed it in a bedroom, and that he came out, quoted and had the job complete within a week. A 2023 customer said they called Don on a Tuesday and had flooring installed on Saturday.

A 2023 customer who had bought their own flooring and hired Don to install it said the first installation was in early September 2022 and part of the floor was still unfinished in mid-March 2023. That 2023 customer said Don had offered to provide doorway transition strips, later claimed the customer had agreed to supply them, and that the customer bought and installed the strips themselves. The same 2023 customer said Don did not pick up calls and never responded to voicemails.

Connecticut lists the company's home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0670663, as active.

**Strengths:**
- A 1.5-day LVP install — a 2024 customer said 1,600 square feet took 1.5 days
- A quick install date — a 2023 customer called Tuesday and had flooring installed Saturday
- A daily heads-up — a 2025 customer said Don explained what to expect each day

**Concerns:**
- Unfinished floor section — a 2023 customer said part of the floor remained unfinished
- Hard to reach — a 2023 customer said Don never responded to voicemails
