## The honest read

A dog acting strangely is what sent one recent customer to Connecticut Mold. Rufino found a mold problem the household had not spotted, and the customer said the dog improved almost immediately once it was addressed.

The company describes its work as mold detection, safe removal and moisture control. On Google it shows 4.9 stars from 121 ratings.

A lot of the work starts with a diagnosis. A recent customer with an A/C condensate line leak said Rufino came the same day to test for mold and even fixed a clogged dehumidifier line. A recent customer said he came in with a moisture meter, showed them how to use the exhaust fan and HVAC fan, and humidity went from 82 to 50 within an hour. In a 2025 review, a customer who suspected mold from an odor said Rufino came the same day, found no mold and did not try to sell anything they did not need. A 2025 customer said Rufino assessed a kitchen leak, found the home mold free and recommended how to treat the water damage.

On removal jobs, a recent customer said that after the first round of remediation Rufino noticed some mold remained, came back for another round and retested. A 2026 customer said Rufino came right away, returned that afternoon with specific sprays and worked until the mold was gone. In a 2025 review, a customer who had used him three times in two homes said he contained the affected areas and made sure everything was sanitized before finishing. A 2025 customer described Rufino as the owner and said he crawled through the attic crawl space to rate the ventilation and provided a detailed report.

A recent one-star Google review reads "Kept canceling."

**Strengths:**
- Same-day mold test — Rufino came the day of an A/C line leak
- A remediation retest — he returned for another round when mold remained
- Humidity guidance — humidity went from 82 to 50 within an hour
- No upsell — a 2025 customer said nothing unneeded was pushed

**Concerns:**
- Cancellation complaint — a recent one-star Google review said "Kept canceling"
