Its BBB profile tells a different start: a company established in 1978 and incorporated in Maine in 1998, offering roofing, siding, replacement windows, awnings and interior and exterior remodeling. The company also lists an address in Windham. In a 2016 Angi review, a customer described changing the layout of a master bedroom. That 2016 customer said they met with the owner, Gene, who was thorough with the details in his proposal. The 2016 reviewer also wrote that they put down drop cloths every day to keep the dust contained in the room being worked on, and came home to a clean home every night. Its BBB grade is A+. **Strengths:** - Dust containment — a 2016 customer said drop cloths went down every day - Detailed proposal — a 2016 customer said the owner was thorough on details **Where sources disagree:** - The company's website says it has been family-owned since 1926, while its BBB profile says it was established in 1978 and incorporated in 1998. ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Describes itself as family-owned since 1926, offering renovations, custom cabinetry, millwork, built-ins and remodeling across Southern Maine _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](https://www.consolidatedhome.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Consolidated Home Improvement brings together generations of craftsmanship, thoughtful design, and high-end…” - Its BBB profile describes a company established in 1978 and incorporated in Maine in 1998 _(confidence: medium)_ - [Better Business Bureau](https://www.bbb.org/us/me/windham/profile/roofing-contractors/consolidated-home-improvement-0021-13902) — “About (Better Business Bureau, self-described): Consolidated Home Improvement provides a full range of home improvement services including r…” - A 2016 customer said the owner, Gene, was thorough with the details in his proposal for a master bedroom layout change _(confidence: medium)_ - [Angi](https://www.angi.com/companylist/us/me/windham/consolidated-home-improvement-reviews-4850951.htm) — “My wife and I were toying around with changing the layout of our master bedroom and were not exactly sure what we wanted to do.
