That 2025 customer said Dan was exact about when things would happen and how much they would cost, from the permitting process to final inspection, and that the job stayed on schedule and within budget. Constanza & Company describes itself as a general contractor building homes for over a decade on the Connecticut coastline, restoring historical homes, building new custom homes and doing remodels. Its site names Stonington, Niantic, Essex and Old Saybrook as its service area. Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, number HIC.0660456, is active on the state registry under CONSTANZA & COMPANY LLC. It holds a 5-star Google rating from 8 ratings. A 2025 customer described working with Dan to completely renovate a 1920s cottage in Stonington, and said he explained all the steps along the way so decisions fit the budget. A 2025 customer said Dan and his team updated a Stonington beach house with new siding, a roof, extensive foundational work and a more practical use of space for the lower level, and that Dan took care of hiring the landscapers and window treatment company. A 2023 customer who had worked with Dan and his crew many times described an addition with a handicap-accessible master bedroom and bathroom and a library with floor-to-ceiling built-in bookshelves. That 2023 customer said Dan suggested leaving some finishing touches on an upstairs bathroom repair until they were back for the addition, as the more cost-effective route. A 2023 customer said the work on a newly bought weekend home was on time, that Dan even came on a weekend when something could not be figured out, and that Aschly gave interior design advice on colors and ideas. A 2023 customer said Dan and Ashly first did a complex addition at an office building, later added a conference room and foyer there, and then added a large living room and sun room wing to the customer's home in Willington along with a full renovation of the existing structure. **Strengths:** - A quick cottage rebuild — a 2025 customer said it took under 3 months - Clear cost and timing — a 2025 customer said Dan was exact on both - An accessible addition — a 2023 customer described a bedroom, bathroom and library ## Claims & citations Every claim below is backed by real evidence rows — uncited claims are dropped in code before publication. - Its Connecticut home improvement contractor registration, HIC.0660456, is active on the state registry under CONSTANZA & COMPANY LLC _(confidence: high)_ - [State License Registry](https://www.elicense.ct.gov/Lookup/LicenseLookup.aspx) — “CT hic license HIC.0660456 registry-verified active — registry holder of record: CONSTANZA & COMPANY LLC” - 5-star Google rating from 8 ratings _(confidence: high)_ - [Google](https://www.google.com/maps/search/?api=1&query=Constanza%20%26%20Company&query_place_id=ChIJeaswnaJMd0MRsQnnsTnu--A) — “Google: 5★ from 8 ratings” - Describes itself as a general contractor building homes for over a decade on the Connecticut coastline _(confidence: medium)_ - [Official Website](http://www.constanzaandcompany.com) — “About (self-reported, verbatim): Constanza & Company is a general contractor building homes for over a decade.
