## The honest read

Cornerstone Construction is a Lynnfield, Massachusetts general contractor that Joseph Fodera says he founded in 1991; BBB's own accreditation file confirms the business started that October — 34 years in Fodera's hands, and today it's a small, family-run operation: Joseph (CEO) and Melaney Fodera (COO) run the now-incorporated LLC with five employees, working custom homes, additions and whole-house or kitchen/bath renovations across Somerville, Lynnfield and the North Shore.

The strongest signal isn't a review count — it's the permit trail. BuildZoom's tracking shows 25 permitted jobs, most recently a $299,800 addition and bath renovation in Groveland that closed out in August 2025, with earlier work in Somerville, Cambridge and Westford. The handful of written reviews on file tell a similar story on a smaller scale: in a 2018 review, a homeowner described a complex steel-framed addition project as collaborative, with a crew that had "a can do attitude." In a 2021 review, a repeat client — on their second project with the same crew — described a farmer's-porch and clapboard overhaul that draws compliments from people walking by. An older, 2015 account covers a full kitchen renovation with an open-concept layout, new hardwood and granite counters.

The business carries an A+ BBB accreditation with no complaints or government actions on file, and Houzz and BuildZoom both list an active Massachusetts Construction Supervisor license (#61691 / CS-061691) for the company — that number comes from the directories, not our own registry check. Every quoted customer account predates 2022, so there isn't a recent, dated review to point to; worth asking about current crew and lead times directly.

This reads like a solid call for a homeowner planning a real addition or a whole-room renovation rather than a same-day repair — confirm current pricing and scheduling before signing anything.

**Strengths:**
- Deep permit history — 25 BuildZoom-tracked jobs including a $299,800 2025 addition
- Repeat clients — hired twice for separate renovation projects
- Praised for full-room work — additions, porch and kitchen projects done well

**Concerns:**
- Dated review record — newest quoted account is from 2021
