## The honest read

Correia Custom Fence has built its Middleborough track record on custom, on-site fence work — the kind where the yard isn't flat and the fence has to be built to fit it rather than dropped in from a kit. A 2024 review describes exactly that: an uneven lot where the crew built the fence in place over several days, after the homeowner had gotten quotes from three other companies that weren't confident they could pull it off. The company, which the Better Business Bureau lists as started in 2009 and incorporated as an LLC in 2011 with four employees under owner Luis Correia, describes itself as family-owned and says it never subcontracts its work out.

On Google, 39 ratings average 4.8 stars, and the reviews that dig into specifics tell a consistent story: custom vinyl and chain-link fences that hold up (a 2024 review describes a white vinyl fence still solid after a winter of storms), iron railings, and gates built to fit unusual spots — one Plymouth job finished on time and within budget. Price comes up often and favorably: several reviewers say Correia beat other contractors' quotes on timeline, warranty and financing terms, not just sticker price. When something has gone wrong after the fact, the response stands out: a 2023 review describes a sagging fence section fixed under warranty at no charge, no argument.

The pattern worth knowing about before calling: getting an estimate has occasionally stalled out. Reviews from 2022, 2023 and 2024 each describe a promised quote or callback that never materialized — one reviewer waited through two follow-up calls after a technician's site visit, another never got the emailed quote at all. None of these describe finished work gone wrong, only the front-end response, but it recurs across enough years to flag.

Correia fits a homeowner whose fence project isn't a straight run along a flat yard — irregular lots, matching an existing fence's look, custom railings and gates. Confirm a firm estimate timeline up front, since that's the one recurring soft spot in an otherwise well-reviewed shop.

**Strengths:**
- Beats competing quotes — timeline, warranty and price cited repeatedly
- Warranty follow-through — fixed a sagging section at no charge
- Custom on-site builds — handles uneven lots other bidders passed on
- Family-run — no subcontracted work per company

**Concerns:**
- Quote follow-through — several reviewers report promised estimates never arrived
